Yuma Fukuzaki

Born in Osaka in 1987. Graduated from the Department of Crafts at Kanazawa College of Art. After graduating from the lacquer and woodworking course, he apprenticed under lacquer artist Akagi Akito. After going independent, he has been producing lacquerware for everyday use, based in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture. He is exploring his own unique methods of expression, such as combining dry lacquering techniques using linen and lacquer on a wood base. With a simple, modern design that is not limited to a specific use, his products have been finished to make lacquerware more accessible to people of all ages.
