Tea Towel with a Tilburg Twist | Sigrid Calon
about
This kitchen towel is sold as a collaborative product between artist Sigrid Caron and the Textile Museum in Tilburg, Netherlands. Focusing on the weaving technique that can create a variety of weaves, the designer decided to combine 12 different coloured weft threads, which is the maximum number of threads that can be woven on a loom, with white, coloured and black warp threads. This not only shows the types of threads used, but also gives a tactile feel. The edges are left uncut. Available in three colors: white, black, and colorful.
shop manager's view
It can be used as a kitchen towel to dry dishes and hands, and can also be used for a variety of other purposes, such as a lunch mat or mini tablecloth. Washing it makes it softer to the touch and increases its absorbency. Many people say it's a shame to use it because it's so beautiful, but according to Sigrid, it becomes even more beautiful the more you use it and wash it.
