■ Profile of Takumi Kikuchi
Born in 1991 in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture.
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, majoring in Japanese painting in 2015.
In 2017, he completed his graduate studies at the university's Graduate School of Fine Arts, majoring in art studies.

He uses cotton watercolor paper and mineral pigments made from crushed minerals. His technique is characterized by wiping off the paint once applied, which he uses to convey a sense of reservation and hesitation about hasty conclusions. This sense is mainly influenced by the ideas of the German philosopher Walter Benjamin, who continued to focus on the existence of things that have been lost in the flow of progress and development.
