This grape bowl is from Konno No Fuko's solo exhibition "Red clay and pig's blood glaze/White clay and coral glaze," held from January 20 to February 12. This piece is made with red clay from Okinawa Prefecture and a glaze made from pig's blood.

Due to the nature of animal protein, it will have a leather-like smell, so please allow the smell to dissipate for 2-3 months before using. Do not scrub hard with cleansers or scrubbing pads. The surface will peel off, but the water-repellent effect will be maintained, so there is no problem in using it.

Care instructions

Please wash gently by hand with a dish sponge and mild detergent. Do not soak. Avoid stacking dishes or storing in direct sunlight or in humid places.

 

Artist Info

Konno Fuko
Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1983. Graduated from Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts in 2006. Started making pottery in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture in 2008. Created unique works with a theme of Okinawan craftsmanship at Okinawa Ebo.
