[Yuma Fukuzaki]

Born 1987, Osaka. After graduating from Kanazawa College of Art with a degree in lacquer and woodworking, he became an apprentice to lacquerware master Akito Akagi. Since becoming independent, he has been producing lacquerware for everyday use based in Wajima, Ishikawa. He is seeking unique ways of expression, such as combining the dry-lacquer technique using linen and lacquer on a wooden base. The simple, modern design does not limit the use of the lacquerware, making it more accessible to people of all.
